Another Reason to Consider Medifast Meal Delivery

Besides being one of the most trusted diets recommended by doctors, and boasting the convenience of the Medifast meal delivery, here’s another reason to consider Medifast. According to an article published in the January 2008 issue of The Diabetes Educator, the American Association of Diabetes Educators official journal, a study conducted at Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health confirms that Medifast was more effective than the American Diabetes Association (ADA) diet for patients with type 2 diabetes. A group of 112 overweight or obese individuals with diagnosed type 2 diabetes were put on two different weight loss plans; the Medifast Program and the reduced-calorie ADA recommended diet. The results were dramatic. People on the Medifast plan lost twice as much body fat and were more satisfied with the program than the participants following the standard plan. Around 40 percent of the Medifast dieters lost more than 5 percent of their starting weight, whereas only 12 percent of those on the ADA diet did the same. Furthermore, 24 percent of the Medifast users reduced or eliminated their insulin usage or other diabetes medications. Almost no one from the standard ADA diet were able to decrease or eliminate their medications.

The study confirms what doctors have know for 25 years — that meal replacements like Medifast can be as effective for management of diabetes as bariatric surgery,  with less risk of complications.   Medifast coupons offer substantial savings as well.
